The Cyber Resilience Centre for Greater Manchester welcomes BiP Solutions (BiP) as a new Cyber Essentials Partner. BiP has a rich heritage of over 36 years and was founded (and is still headquartered) in Glasgow, Scotland. The company’s core goal has remained to bring buyers and suppliers together in the world of public sector procurement.
BiP has evolved over the years taking products online to provide e-procurement platforms for public sector organisations and governments to showcase contracts for tender, and to provide business intelligence to private sector businesses to support their business growth. They have grown to provide services that encompass media, marketing, early buyer and supplier engagement, national events, certification and procurement training and consultancy services, with Cyber Essentials being a key player to help ensure businesses are secure and have everything they need to connect.
When it comes to online crime, BiP is on the forefront to help businesses defend against the latest threats. Simon Inman, Senior Technology Manager at BiP said ‘we have observed a significant growth in phishing and social engineering attacks recently. Also, an upward trend in Denial of Service attacks.’
Cyber Essentials is just one of the ways BiP supports businesses to grow their resilience to online crime and so we are delighted to be working in partnership with them. Cyber Essentials provides a solid foundation to ensure that businesses become fully aware of their online security and can then take the right measures to strengthen it. The Cyber Resilience Centre advises that all businesses take Cyber Essentials as a step to becoming resilient to online crime.
Working in partnership with BiP also means we can support their work via local police intelligence and expertise sharing through our Cyber Essentials Partner group.
