DCI Chris Maddocks | Head of Fraud & Cyber Crime
Chris heads the Economic and Cyber teams in the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit. Chris manages investigations into organised cybercrime, where he works alongside local Police forces, the National Crime Agency and National Cyber Security Centre. Chris works to develop cyber resilience in the North West to protect communities.
Chris has experience investigating a variety of crime types having worked in both Cheshire and Greater Manchester Police. These vary from serious sexual offences to murder. Chris developed his interest in cyber investigations when he set up the Cheshire Police cybercrime team.
DI Dan Giannasi | Head of Cyber & Innovation
Detective Inspector Dan Giannasi brings over 15 years of Policing experience to the Cyber Resilience Centre. Having worked across a diverse range of investigative roles including public protection, digital investigations and cybercrime.
Dan maintains close links with the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) and local forces to help local forces provide accessible, consistent, government-backed support and training to organisations of all sizes.
Katie Gallagher | Managing Director
Katie Gallagher is the Managing Director of Manchester Digital, the largest trade body for technology and digital businesses in the North.
Under Katie's leadership, Manchester Digital has made a significant impact on the success of the tech and digital industry in the region, taking a lead on the development of innovative talent and skills projects and currently working to improve the regions' cybersecurity capacity through the Digital Security Centre.
Mehran Jalaei (MJ) | Senior Cyber Security Consultant
Mehran is an expert Cyber Security Consultant and is responsible for delivering the CRC's services to businesses and cyber awareness training to members. He manages the CRC's talented team of Junior Cyber Security Consultants and supports the development of a strong cyber student community within the region through skills development and our North West Student Chapter.
Coming from an engineering background, he has strong problem-solving skills that were developed in corporate environments. This means he is able to work with all types of businesses to ensure they put the right measures in place to strengthen their resilience to online crime.

Awarded the NIST Cyber Security Professional (NCSP) Foundation Certificate
Niomie joined the Centre in June 2022. A former Team Manager for the Fraud Prevention Team at The Very Group, Niomie is responsible for liaising with our clients and customers, developing relationships with new external partners whilst continuing to provide guidance and advice for SMEs within the region.

Jared joined the Centre in September 2020. A former Digital Marketing Manager within the recruitment sector in Preston, Jared has worked across a variety of digital marketing and communications roles and has experience in email marketing, B2B marketing, social media marketing and content creation.
Jared is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications, public relations, partnerships and promotional campaigns.
