The Cyber Resilience Centre expands to protect businesses across the North West

Updated: May 4, 2023

As you may have noticed, we have now rebranded as the North West Cyber Resilience Centre (NWCRC).

We launched the Cyber Resilience Centre in Greater Manchester in 2019 as a national pathfinder, following which, in 2020, national Policing and the Home Office funded the creation of a network of ten regional cyber resilience centres to boost further the support provided by police to the business community.

Becoming a North West centre means we can expand our valuable work to help protect the business community from online crime and support small businesses across Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester with access to sector-specific guidance along with a range of membership packages.

We also offer a range of security services, including:

  • Security Awareness Training: This training focuses on those with little or no cyber security or technical knowledge and is delivered in small, succinct modules using real-world examples.

  • Website Vulnerability Assessment: this tests your IT system configuration using the same techniques hackers use to ensure your company is not wide open to a cyber attack.

In recent months the centre announced its partnership with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and has worked alongside Siemens, The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Barclays & The North West Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. The centre is looking to expand its network of local partners to reach SMEs across the region - contact us to learn more.

Managing Director of North West Cyber Resilience Centre, Neil Jones, says;

“This North West expansion aligns us with the national network and allows us to expand our partnership work across the region whilst maintaining a very strong relationship with Greater Manchester and a physical presence in Manchester.”
“Making this announcement is great news for the centre and a good news story for Greater Manchester and we are very grateful for the continued support of all our partners in the region.”
