Our latest North West Cyber Student Chapter event ‘Taking the first steps in your Cyber Security career’ took place on Thursday the 25th November 2021.
This event is the fourth event of our student chapter series, aimed at bringing together students who are studying cybersecurity across various universities in the North West.

Over 75 students from universities across the North West came together in a 2-hour hybrid event. This event was a chance to hear from senior experts in the industry; Robert Hegarty, Innovation Engineer - Nation Management Centre (NMC)/ BT, Paul Taylor, Training Manager, EMEA. Chainalysis, Phil Larratt, UK Operations Manager, Chainalysis and Sara Ward, SOC Analyst, National Management Centre (NMC)/BT.
Each speaker discussed their career paths and their experience of; Mitre visualisation, life as a SOC analyst, Cryptocurrency Trends and Cryptocurrency Trends.
Feedback has been positive from students who attended both virtually and in-person, with 45% of attendees saying they would rate the event as excellent and 100% saying they would recommend our next event to fellow students.
