This event will feature a number of speakers who will be discussing their first-hand experience of how they landed their first job in cyber and why they enjoy working within the Cyber Security sector.

The North West Cyber Student Chapter is a regular meet-up for any student studying cybersecurity in the North West. Our events bring together students so they can share ideas, network and meet experts from the industry.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a community of cybersecurity enthusiasts and engage with the region’s leading cyber companies, improve your knowledge and develop skills that will help you to get a job when you finish studying.

How did you land your first job in Cyber Security?

This upcoming event will feature several speakers who will be sharing their first-hand experience of working in Cyber Security and the different responsibilities that are included in their role. Each speaker brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge, come prepared to listen to how they found their first job and what led them to where they are today.

This event will also feature a panel discussion with four Cyber Resilience Centre alumni students who will talk about their experience working as junior ethical hackers, how they managed to secure a role after graduating and what their current role entails. We’re proudly hosting:

  • Amir Rasaei - Information Security Analyst at The Hut Group(THG)
  • Maks Gotkowicz, Azure Security Engineer at Lloyds Banking Group
  • Shaza Al-Haddad, Cyber Security Consultant Graduate at Fujitsu

As Corporate Team Lead, Mat has the responsibility for the provision of Digital Forensics services to CYFOR’s Corporate Clients. Mathew has over 15 years of experience working in both technical and managerial positions, in Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR), Mat brings a wealth of experience to the team working with both public sector clients and multinational corporations.
