An Introduction to the Cyber Resilience Centre Business Resilience Program

Updated: Mar 10, 2023

Calling all SMEs in the Greater Manchester area! Do you want to learn more about cyber security and how you can help keep your business secure online?

If you know, you need to increase your cyber security knowledge but don’t know where to begin - this program is for you!

Our fully-funded Business Resilience Program for businesses based in Greater Manchester allows you to enrol two staff members on a Security Awareness Training session - aimed at those with little or no cyber security or technical knowledge and delivered over 90 minutes. You’ll also have access to a Senior Cyber Security Consultant through a 1-2-1 consultation, so we can review your business needs, discuss cyber security for a hybrid workforce and signpost you to the latest help and support.

The Business Resilience Program has been created in collaboration with Police and ISO accredited Risk Managers to improve a business’s cyber resilience through assessment, testing, training and education - signposting to free or affordable police and government-backed guidance and tools where required.

This unique, fully funded opportunity is available to Greater Manchester-based small businesses – particularly the self-employed sole trader or micro-businesses who don’t have the resources to engage in expensive cyber security services. The program includes a 12-month Business Starter Membership, giving you access to additional support and security resources you can download and share with your team.

The pandemic has seen a 400% increase in reports of cyber fraud and small businesses are at increased risk - without access to relevant, affordable and trusted support.

This program aims to support businesses by:

  • Mitigating the threat that cybercrime poses and supporting our business community to recover from the impact of Covid-19.

  • Protecting your business against online crime at a time when suffering an attack could mean the difference between a business staying open and closing.

  • Training staff remotely to be aware of the latest phishing email threats, business impersonation fraud attacks, ransomware and the importance of strong passwords and two-factor authentication (2FA).

  • Supporting businesses who have adopted a more flexible workforce, often working from home. Where businesses have become reliant on new IT systems and an increased threat landscape.

  • Answer any business questions about your security controls, policies and network controls.
